Habitual con woman gets another 10 years

Kota Kinabalu: A 28-year-old woman currently serving sentence for cheating, was handed a total of 10 years' jail by the Magistrate's Court on another two similar offences.Kee Noorayudah Mohd Ayub admitted to cheating one Nor Izzah Azmidar Md Tajuddin by making her believe that she was selling a house at Colonnades Condominium purportedly belonging to the Housing and Town Development Board (LPPB).

Her ruse caused Nor Izzah to give her RM4,000 as a deposit at 4pm on Feb 3, 2013 at Restoran Sri Sempelang, Asia City and at noon on Feb 8 the same year at the same place.

Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie sentenced Kee Norayudah to five years' jail on each count and ordered her to serve the jail term concurrently with her present jail term.

The offences under Section 420 of the Penal Code provides for a jail term of between one and 10 years, and whipping and fine, on conviction.

Earlier, counsel Fazhier Farhan representing Kee Noorayudah, informed the court that she is serving five years' jail for a similar offence and requested the court to give her a chance for rehabilitation.

In another court, a 17-year-old boy was charged with trespassing a house.

The boy, who appeared before Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus is accused of committing the offence at one Ahmad Zaidi's house at 12.40am on Oct 28 in Kg Sipanggil, Putatan. The court set Nov 23 for mention of the case.

Meanwhile, a man, Dahari Zul Aziz was jailed eight months for having 0.09gm of syabu on Sept 17 in Putatan.

Chief Inspector Lim Swee Beng and Inspector P. Nathan prosecuted.
