Kota Kinabalu: Head coach Mohd Asyraaf Abdullah will use the Singapore triangular tournament to be held from February 16-20 where the national women football team will be taking part to judge his players as they prepare for the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games later in the year."The tournament in Singapore which also features Philippines and hosts Singapore will be a good platform for me to judge the ability of my players against teams of similar standard.

"The next tournament at the Asean Football Federation (AFF) tournament to be held in Thailand in March will be a better platform for me to further judge the team against opponents of much higher standard in preparation for the SEA Games.

"What I would also like to see from these two tournaments is the level of confidence from each player," he said.

He added that more friendlies are on the cards after the two tournaments against tougher teams such as clubs from South Korean, Thailand or Vietnam which will give him a much clearer overall picture of the team.

Meanwhile, another player has been added by Asyraaf to his squad following their recent trip to Nepal.

18-year-old Nurulhuda Zainol Razak from Negeri Sembilan will join the existing 21 players for the second phase training session at the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Stadium here starting January 9.

The 21 players who had earlier made it to the national squad from the initial 25 names are Asma Junaidi, Roszaini Bakar, Eslilah Esar, Marcella Angela Parais, Yasrikalaura Tumas, Nur Atikah Abdul Wahab, Anis Aishah Asiati, Puteri Noralisa Wilkilson, Nur Athirah Mamat, Angela Kais, Nurul Azurin Mazlan, Sheilynn Elly Pius, Usliza Usman, Nur Athirah Farhana, Malini Nordin, Masturah Majid, Haindee Mosroh, Jaciah Jumilis, Dadree Rofinus, Jl Fedalliah Claritta Jaimin and Nurhaniza Saarani.
