Kota Kinabalu: Low price store, Ninso, believes it will now be prepared for the crowd with the opening of a second outlet at a local mall in the middle of the city, here, Tuesday. The RM2.50 shop had to close down its flagship store in Kolombong temporarily thrice last December just days after opening it, after supplies ran out as the year-end spending peaked last year.

According to its Manager Hong Yu Huat, a 10,000 square foot warehouse was acquired at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park to keep supplies stable.

"When we opened the store in Kolombong, we had only about two months of supplies at hand.

We never expected the crowd would be so huge," he said.

The low-priced store sets the prices of its goods flat at RM2.50 each inclusive of Goods and Services Tax.

The opening of its first store in Kolombong last year marked the entry of TCT Trading Sdn Bhd into the low-price retail segment but already plans were laid out by the directors of the company to open at least 30 stores across Sabah this year.

The opening of Ninso at KK Plaza here marks the company's second outlet in Kota Kinabalu, but plans are already afoot to open three more stores in Beaufort, Keningau and at 1Borneo.

The outlet is also smaller compared to the first one, offering around 8,000 products from its 3,000 square foot store compared to 10,000 products in a 10,000 square foot store.

Ninso which means "the people" in Japanese, offers various products ranging from household items, textile, kitchenware, plasticware, food and beverage and stationary products.
