Pregnant woman in fatal fall
Kota Kinabalu: A 25-year-old Murut who was six months pregnant fell to her death while trying to dry a mattress over her third floor apartment balcony, Tuesday afternoon. Acting City Police Supt George Abd. Rakman said a neighbour saw the body of Jeaquiline binti Ribot (pic) clad in black t-shirt and a batik sarong upon hearing a loud thump at the apartments in Kepayan.

The victim's two year-old was at home while her husband and mother had left for work.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was trying to put a mattress on the drying place at the balcony of her apartment. A two-inch metal rod that was used to dry clothes was found ripped from its iron fencing rod.

George said an inspection of the victim's apartment showed no forced entry to the house.

A doctor pronounced her dead and the body was sent to the hospital for a post mortem.

He said the police are investigating the case as a sudden death report. - Hayati Dzulkifli
