MTDC unveils academy for technopreneurs

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) unveiled its new Technopreneur Training Academy (TENTRA), which will serve as the prime capacity building entity for technopreneurs and technology commercialisation.Chief Executive Officer Datuk Norhalim Yunus said the training academy was aimed at reducing business failure rates among entrepreneurs, especially technopreneurs."With all the nurturing programmes and advisory services MTDC has to offer, it's time to consolidate our efforts into a dedicated and structured capacity development hub for technopreneurship.

"Under TENTRA, we will further enhance our offerings by way of technology matching services, including a placement scheme for lecturers and researchers who wish to gain industry insights on knowledge transfer and commercialisation," he told reporters after launching TENTRA here Wednesday.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Norhalim said TENTRA would equip technopreneurs with business skills, including ways to start and sustain companies, from seed, start-up, growth to expansion."The academy will help to develop and nurture future technopreneurs through "Symbiosis", MTDC's graduate entrepreneurship programme, and groom and grow other fund-recipient companies at the same time. – Bernama
