Kuala Lumpur: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), a wholly-owned unit of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), has targeted to register 5,000 to 6,000 new account holders during the Fiesta Labur PNB in Putrajaya from Sept 28 to Oct 1.

Its Chief Executive Officer/ Executive Director, Mohammad Hussin said this is based on the expected visitor turnout of about 15,000 at the carnival.

"Fiesta Labur PNB is the culmination and showcase of all PNB's financial literacy programmes that have been organised throughout the year in all states across the country.

"It aims to deliver investment-related content through fun and casual engagement sessions with the participants and visitors," he told a media briefing on the fiesta here yesterday.

The infotainment-based investment carnival, which will feature 50 retail outlets and exhibition booths, will be held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC).

Renowned investment speakers and celebrities are expected to grace the event.

Mohammad said through Fiesta Labur PNB, ASNB could educate the public on the advantages of investing and share the fundamentals of investment such as the "Power of Compounding" and "Rule of 72", so that visitors could understand that investment was not complicated.

"We have also chosen to do this in a relaxed and fun setting so that the visitors could easily remember the tips and new investment knowledge gathered at the venue," he added.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani is expected to launch the carnival, as well as PNB's new portal, MyASNB (www.myasnb.com.my), which is currently under beta test. – Bernama
