Mercure set to further boost tourism sector

Kota Kinabalu: The newly-opened Mercure Hotel here is set to further boost the tourism and hospitality industry in the State.Headed by General Manager Jacques Leizerovici who has vast hotel operation experience both in Malaysia and around the world, the hotel, under the Accor Group of Hotels, also aims to be among the top in the city."I will strive to achieve Mercure's ultimate goal, which is to deliver extraordinary experience for guests during their stay here in Kota Kinabalu," he said during a cocktail party at the hotel, on Thursday.

Unveiling the hotel's motto as "Mercure, Better than a Hug", he said: "The motto I have created represents the friendliness of every single staff in the hotel who is willing to help any guests in any situation so that they feel welcome at Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre."Leizerovici, who has been residing here for the past 11 years, said the hotel's diverse staff are from various parts of the State such as Lahad Datu, Sandakan, Kota Marudu, Kudat, Kota Belud, Tuaran and Papar. "They have undergone a year and a half of training prior to the hotel's opening," he added.
