Police are now looking for their two accomplice, identified as Mohamad Arbani Mohamad Sewan, 24, a local and a Filipino known only as Leo, in his 30s, following the Oct 6 incident. District Police Chief DSP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah in a press conference at the Ranau police headquarters, Tuesday, said the incident unfolded when police detected the suspects inside a Proton Waja a day after the 10.30am break-in took place. The team introduced themselves after tailing the car which stopped at a petrol kiosk.

The policemen alighted from their vehicle and approached the suspects inside the Waja, but instead the suspects revved up the engine and tried to run over one of the policeman before speeding off. Their actions prompted the team to fire two shots at the Waja's tyres, but they continue to speed off despite having two flat tyres, prompting the team to give chase.
