Screening of 'Big Pygmies Little Giants' documentary in S'kan today
Published on: Friday, October 20, 2017

Sandakan: Australian filmmakers Howard Jackson and Dr Audrey Low of WildHoop Productions produced their first documentary, "Big Dream Little Bears", on Bornean sun bears and our Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) in 2011, bringing the message of sun bear conservation to the masses.

The film travelled the world and has been screened at over 10 international film festivals in countries such as UK, Qatar, United States, Singapore and Australia.

And while maintaining a physically distant relationship with Sabah, they are in fact fervently working on their sequel to the sun bear story.

Fast forward to 2017, WildHoop Productions is now raising the curtains on their much-anticipated sequel, "Big Pygmies Little Giants."

The film will "officially" premiere internationally at the upcoming Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) 2017 from Oct 23 to 29. But "unofficially" they will be screening it here, from where they filmed the documentary, to our local audiences.

This is a rare opportunity to see it first here, in the intimate setting of Sandakan, home of Bornean sun bears.

The 63-minute free screening at BaLin Rooftop Restaurant, NAK Hotel, Sandakan, today (Friday), starts 8.30pm, and will be followed by a Question and Answer session by Howard and Dr Audrey.
