Sabah Unity League kicks off in Jan

Kota Kinabalu: Football teams in Sabah including those from Labuan are invited to participate in the 7th Sabah Unity League Football Tournament which will kick off in January 2018 at the Penampang Sport Complex Stadium.The tournament organised by Penampang Unity Football Club (PUFC) is divided into two categories namely the mix-veteran for age 40 and above and the super-veteran the above 50.

Organising spokesman Edwin Jomiji said in view of the good response, they have decided to limit participation to 32 teams in the mix-veteran and 20 in the super-veteran.

The competition which is aimed to promote and foster unity and integration among the veteran football players will be played based on the World Cup format of 32 teams however, there would be slight modification depending on the circumstances.

He added that attractive cash prizes and trophies worth more than RM50,000 are awaiting the winners.

The final closing date is on November 30 and the managers meeting will be held a week later.

The rules and regulations of the tournament and participation forms and other related documents are now available for collections from officials in charge.
