Lim and Loh bag table tennis gold medals

Sandakan: The last day of table tennis at the 8th Sabah Games saw the men's and women's singles being competed at the Table Tennis Training Centre, SRJK Pui Gin, here.Sandakan's Lim Yi Heng won the men's singles gold with Tawau's Timothy Yap Zhi On taking silver while bronze went to Kota Kinabalau's David Ho Chen Sen.

Lim's victory was made even sweeter as he was able to share his joy with both his parents who were present at the venue.

The women's singles gold was won by Tawau's Loh Qiao Ni, silver went to Sandakan's Zoe Fong Yi Chong with bronze going to Papar's Shafiqah Athirah Suriansiah and Nurshida Nurudin.

Meanwhile, in taekwondo, Keningau's Muhd Azim Zarif won gold in the men's fin weight with silver going to Kota Kinabalu's Muuhamad Aidil Pin Paya while Tuaran's Mohd Shaqir Mohd Safri and Lahad Datu's Mohd Khairil Hisyam Ruzaimy won bronze.

The women's fin weight gold was won by Kota Kinabalu's Nur Fatiha Osman, silver to Ranau's Rabiatuladawiah Rasmi and bronze to Tuaran's Erwisa Safiera Borudin and Keningau's Siti Ira Suahisa Suhana Ishak @ Lati.

The other results were men's bantam weight: Kunak's Jauhari Idris (gold), Lahad Datu' Muhammad Fazlilnizam Sham Beda (silver), Tuaran's Steve Alvero Doirik @ Joirik and Kota Belud's Chalicnwel Addy Handrison (bronze); women's bantam weight: Sandakan's Ottilia Avanus Jasri (gold), Kota Kinabalu's Umbarka Abdulgader (silver), Lahad Datu's Wan Syakirah and Kota Belud's Abby Earlynnda Ejaipi (bronze); men's light weight lelaki: Kunak's Abdul Rahmansyah Reduansyah (gold), Lahad Datu's Muhamad Izwar Danial Mohd Amin (silver), Putatan's Gilbert Chan and Kota Belud's Fernando Chanson Bruce (bronze); women's light weight: Tuaran's Nor Sasahana Inti Aning (gold), Tawau's Nuraida Fitri Abdullah (silver), Kota Belud's Elyana Sazwin Magbanua and Lahad Datu's Norariana Nathashirah Arip Pudin (bronze); men's middle weight: Tuaran's Conte Diaz Albert (gold), Kunak's Greggorey George (silver), Lahad Datu's Khairul Aznan Azman and Ranau's Shouqey Fikrie Wasli (bronze).

Papar's Fenny Binjamis @ Emis won the women's middle weight gold medal without having to compete.

Meanwhile, five categories were contested on the penultimate day of silat.

In the Puteri Tanding Class D (60-65kg), Nabawan's Daesywasika won the gold with silver going to Keningau's Grace Olivia Garis while Tuaran's Namirra Nadjahnie and Beaufort's Manja Jamain won bronze.

The Puteri Tanding Class E (65kg-70kg) gold was by Keningau's Nurul Hazifah Jederion, Beaufort's Nai'matun Najwa Hishamuddin took silver while the bronze medal went to Tuaran's Nurul Fatin Faezah Zaindy and Tawau's Nuraini Sahrani.

Tongod's Mohd Firdaus Anuar won the Putera Tanding Class H (80kg-85kg) gold medal with silver to Penampang's Iskandaruddin Awang Tusin and bronze to Kinabatangan's Mohd Izzuddin Abdullah and Tawau's Andi Ahmad Mohd Ali.

The Putera Tanding Class I (85kg-90kg) gold medal was won by Kota Belud's Amran Maklin, silver to Tawau's Mohd Reifqy Shahputra Landang and bronze to Keningau's Mohd Dzul Faridz Wiyoto and Beaufort's Mohd Faris Iqmal Shawin.

Sipitang's Ryzad Addri Awang won the Putera Tanding Class J (90kg-95kg) gold, while silver went to Keningau's Nurman Mohd Alias and bronze to Kota Belud's Mohd Khairul Akmal Jailani and Kudat's Muhammad Abdullah.
