Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Sabah Vice-President Junz Wong said he will be filing a complaint against Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Raymond Tan and the Sabah Urban Development Corporation (SUDC) to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the sale of 238 acres in Kinarut, since Tan had openly said that he will refuse to answer him.Junz said he was taken aback by Tan's decision to renege on his promise at the last State Assembly Sitting and inquired whether his action amounts to misleading or lying in the August House.
He wondered if the privileges committee will look into the matter as Tan's action "has denied the people's fundamental right to know whether or not their interests via the land were handled responsibly and professionally".
Junz said he would seek the advice of the Speaker to look into the matter and propose the privileges committee cut Tan's salary for at least three to six months for lying or misleading in the August House.
"I challenge Raymond Tan to sue.
"He must have forgotten that his assistant Finance Minister had just issued a similar legal threat against me about two to three weeks ago."
During the Nov 22 State Legislative Assembly sitting, Junz had claimed that the land, which was purportedly sold to a company connected to an individual involved in the Sabah Water Department Scandal for RM13.2 million, is still unused with only one semi-detached house sitting on one part.
Tan then demanded an apology from Junz, saying the latter was wrong about the selling price and promised to reveal the real selling price in due time.
"Around two to three years ago he also refused to answer my questions regarding 86 acres in the KKIP Zone IZ9 which was also sold relatively cheap to a firm."
"The 238 acres belong to the people of Sabah, especially the people of Kinarut and that region.
I wish to remind him that this is not his father's land and he is holding public office. He thinks he could just sell off our lands without needing to justify?
"Poor villagers and people working in Kinarut have no homes and cannot afford houses.
The land belongs to them.
"I promise that Warisan will continue to pursue the matter until the public receives a satisfactory answer from the State government," he said.
