Ka Tung eyes KGC hat-trick

Kota Kinabalu: Lee Ka Tung will be looking for a hat-trick in the 31st KGC Golf Amateur Open which will start tomorrow (Friday) at the Kinabalu Golf Club (KGC).Lee, from Sibu who won the previous two meets in 2014 and 2016 has also won the title back in 2006 and 2010.He is set to face a stiff challenge from recently crowned SGCC Open champion Alexander Lau as well as youngster Christopher Daniel James and former Sukma gold medallist Albright Chong.

Club captain Chua Poh Guan in a press conference on Wednesday said veteran player Peter Tan and club players Yahya Yusof, Sabaruddin Ismail as well as Hassim Karim, may spring surprises in the three-day competition which will see a total of 114 participants.He also said intensive works has been carried out to ensure the field will be in tip-top condition for the competition."We want to restore its previous status as one of the great and popular courses here, and we also want to reinstall the tournament as one the top in the Sabah Golf Association (SGA) calendar," he added.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
