Kota Kinabalu: Parti Solidariti Tanahairku (Star) has advised voters against voting for state PKR and DAP as their actions in the run-up to the 14th general election clearly show that they are no longer credible and cannot be trusted to safeguard Sabah. Its Deputy President cum party candidate for Liawan seat, Datuk Dr Kong Fui Seng said both parties had previously insisted that they would not give way to local parties.

"However, this insistence was thrown down the drain when they surrendered to Warisan with 45 State seats and openly acknowledged that Sabah should be managed by local parties. They claimed that it was what Sabahans wanted.

"To be consistent with their stand, they should give up their 15 seats to other local parties and concentrate their focus in Malaya. Their flip-flop stand can only mean that they are not serious in granting full autonomy to Sabah," he said in a statement.

He pointed out that both the peninsula-based parties have seriously breached the federal constitution by changing the 40 per cent net revenue derived from Sabah to 50 per cent net revenue collected in Sabah as stated in their election manifesto.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
He said the change has many serious repercussions for Sabah.

"There is a huge difference between income derived from Sabah and income collected in Sabah, which could be RM15 billion less.

"Firstly, most of the big revenues are paid by companies, including international oil companies, Petron and Petronas, plantation companies and branches of companies based in Malaya and Sarawak, which derive their income from their Sabah operations.

Thus, it means that Sabah would receive very much less revenue from the 50 per cent collection and could amount to a loss of RM15 billion annually," he said.

In addition to this, Dr Kong said the 40 per cent net entitlement derived from Sabah is a constitutional provision agreed by the founding fathers of Malaysia in 1963, it would be a dishonour to the federal constitution by changing it to 50 per cent collection without amending it.

"To change to 50 per cent collection would be a dishonour to what was agreed upon in 1963.

"And by changing it, both PKR and DAP obviously do not wish to return the full amount to Sabah and still wish to take the rest to Malaya. This is a gross humiliation of Sabahans," he said.

On this reason he said both parties can no longer be trusted.

He pointed out that the DAP even breached its own principle for failing to take action against three of their candidates who crossed over after winning in the last general election despite having been made to promise to pay RM5 million each if the betrayed the party.

"Even if they were to put a RM100 million compensation, it would still be meaningless because they would not enforce it," he said.

He said it is curious to see that both parties are no longer raising the issues of Projek IC and illegal immigrants now that they are friends with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir and Warisan.

"For Sabahans genuinely wanting change and the return of Sabah rights, it is pointless to give their votes to the PKR, DAP or Warisan. They should vote for Gabungan Sabah that wants full autonomy and return of Sabah's rights for its own development and prosperity," added Dr Kong.
