Sabah Theological Seminary 30th joy today

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Theological Seminary will be hosting a thanksgiving dinner at the Hakka Association Ballroom today (Saturday) in conjunction with its 30th Anniversary.Earlier, they held a worship celebration at the Sabah Theological Seminary Auditorium, Thursday.In 1998, The Basel Christian Church of Malaysia endeavoured to establish the Sabah Teological Seminary as a response to the need to train church workers and Christian community leaders.

It commenced operations with 23 students, six lecturers and a single double storey house which was used to conduct the lectures. The Seminary currently has 523 students, 23 lecturers and modern facilities; which include well-equipped classrooms, a two-storey library and a computer lab with broadband capabilities. It has also been awarded in 2014 for its recognition as a Center of Theological Excellence by the Association of Theological School in South East Asia (ATESEA), which is an accreditation body for theological schools in Asia. The Seminary's Principal Dr Wilfred J Samuel noted that all this has been made possible because of God's grace and goodness expressed through members of the Churches in Sabah and beyond.
