Eddy to focus on SPM
Selangor: After delivering a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Para Games (APG) in Indonesia recently, national para athlete Eddy Bernard wants to fully focus on preparing for his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) in November.The student of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Beluran, Sabah won the gold medal in the men's long jump T44, T62/64 with a new games record of 6.30 metres.

"For this year, my calendar as an athlete is over and I am happy with my overall achievement for this year.

"I will continue to take on more challenges in several championships after this, but I will take a rest to focus on SPM," said Eddy when met by reporters upon his return at Kuala Lumpur International Airport here with other several other national para athletes.

The arrival of the para athletes was received by National Sports Council (MSN) Management Service Division director, Hazani Hashim and MSN Finance Division director Zulkifli Alias.

Eddy also won the gold medal in the 100 metres and long jump T37 at the Asean Para Games in Kuala Lumpur 2017. – Bernama
