Kota Kinabalu: A City Symphony Orchestra was officially launched at Kingfisher Park, near here, Friday. State Secretary Datuk KY Mustafa, who officiated the launching ceremony held at the City Hall's Learning Centre, hoped it would lead to the creation of a vibrant performing art in Kota Kinabalu.

"Prosperity depends on well-developed minds, imagination, ingenuity and innovation.

Advocating sound policy and establishing innovative strategies for community education will contribute to Kota Kinabalu's prosperity," he said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Datuk Abdul Ghani Rashid said the idea of forming an orchestra for the city was discussed two years ago.
