Kota Kinabalu: Information Minister Dato Seri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzil heads the list of 540 people who received awards in conjunction with Head of State Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah's 59th birthday today (Friday).Abdul Kadir was awarded the State's highest award SPDK, which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.

Other who received the SPDK were Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, Kalabakan Member of Parliament Datuk Abdul Ghafur Salleh, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Bakri Omar and Andrew Sheng Len Tau. The late Keningau Native Chief Gunsanad Kina also received the SPDK posthumously.

A total of 33 people received the PGDK which carried the title "Datuk", including Parliamentary Secretary Samsu Baharum Abdul Rahman, Sabah Cultural Board Chairman Wilfred Tangau and Balung Assemblyman-cum- Muis Chairman Syed Abas Syed Ali.

Others were Sabah Deputy Commissioner of Police SAC 1 Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin, State Attorney General Mohamad Bazain Idris, Yakin Chairman Hj Iskandar Datuk Hj Malik, Sabah Rubber Industry Board General Manager Harris Mathew and LDP Kota Kinabalu Branch Chairman Chin Su Phin.

Malaysian Red Crescent Society Sabah Branch Chairman William John Chai, Public Service Commission member Noraini Datuk Hj Salleh and veteran musician Peter Pragas; Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Finance Ministry Yusof Datuk Mohd Kassim, Md Alwi Hj Che Ahmad, Abdul Farish Abdul Rashid, Abu Bakar Abbas, Choo Hock Beng, Dr Foong Weng Sum, Jaikoh Imbayan @ Md Yaakub Imbayan and Jimmy Yong Kyok Ming.

The rest of the PGDK recipients were Joseph David Manjaji, Lee Nyuk Heng, Mohd Saian Ridzuan, Dr Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin, Jheains Director Pg Nohin Pg Rauf, Robert Tan and Zulekha Hassan.

Eight people received the Justice of Peace (JP) - State Speaker Datuk Juhar Hj Mahiruddin, Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Radin Malleh and Anthony Roderic @ Manthoapil Fernandez; Super Principal of SM Tekink Tawau Mary Yap Kain Ching; lawyer Maijol Mahap, Ho Jin Wah, Ganesh Nandy @ GBB Nandy and Chang Kuan Hiong @ Johnson Tee.

Fifty-six people received the ASDK, including Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Japlin Akim, Bugaya Assemblyman Basalie Abdul Hamid, Kuamut Assemblyman Johnny Intang and Deputy Director General of Kota Kinabalu City Hall Wan Maria Osman Lee.

Ninety two received the ADK while 129 received the BSK. Another 163 received the BK and 52 the CH.
