CM thanks Federal for the continued focus

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the Federal Government's continuous focus and commitment to the infrastructure development of Sabah is clearly in the 1Malaysia spirit that prioritise the prosperity of the rakyat.

"It is proven that these are leaders and government with the people at heart," he said, Wednesday.

"On behalf of the State Government and Sabah people, I would like to express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the Prime Minister and Federal Government for the announcement.

He assured that the State Government and leaders would reciprocate by working hard as a team to ensure the leadership's aspiration is achieved according to schedule for the benefit of the state and people in general.

Meanwhile, he told a thanksgiving dinner at Tabung Haji Complex later that the Quran can be a catalyst in creating successful human capital and bring about more development.

"The state government has done various approaches to educate people with al-Quran and as-Sunnah, whether full time at State Government Religious Schools, mosques, suraus, government departments and agencies,".

"Many programmes are also organised by the State Islamic Affairs Department (JHEINS), United Sabah Islamic Association (Usia) and other organisations, " he said in his speech delivered by State Tourism, Cultural and Environment Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun.

Musa also thanked the Malaysia Education Ministry for choosing Sabah as the organiser for the Ministry 16th National Level Tilawah Al-Quran ceremony.

He said reading is the pathway to knowledge and with knowledge we will be respected and gain good reputation.

" Knowledge is the foundation of every human civilization where history has proven that Rome, Yunani, Muslim, and every empire started with knowledge and gave big contribution to our world, " he said.

Musa also hoped that the "Majlis Malam Tautan Kasih" can enhance the relationships between the all tilawah al-Quran participants and officers nationwide.
