Two injured in lorry collision

Kota Kinabalu: A lorry driver and his 22-year-old female passenger were injured in a collision with a 10-tonne lorry at Jalan Kalansanan along Tuaran by-pass, on Wednesday.Bayani bin Bujang, 37, who was driving a 11/2 tonne lorry belonging to a company in Sandakan, was heading from Menggatal to the State Capital prior to the collision at 10.50pm.

He suffered a broken leg and injured his face and hands while his passenger, Jasmin bte Tonny, sustained injuries on her leg and head in the mishap.

It was believed that the 10-tonne lorry, which was heading from Kalansanan to Inanam, did a U-turn at the scene prior to the collision.

The 45-year-old lorry driver escaped injuries.
