In a statement Wednesday, Maxis said the plans would take advantage of its recent and widespread network upgrades using "High-Speed Packet Access+Dual Carrier" technology.
"It will double the download and websurfing performance previously available," it said.
The third-generation iPad features a new Retina display, Apple's new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a five-megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics for capturing amazing photographs and 1,080-pixel high-definition video.
It also delivers the 10-hour battery life while remaining thin and light.
