Kuala Lumpur: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Monday invited his Facebook fans to join the "1 in a Million" campaign to get the chance to meet the Prime Minister. He said since his engagement with the social media, the meetings with his fans had helped a lot in enabling him to learn of the issues affecting the people.

He had harboured the desire to spend some time with his online friends for a long time, and the best way to do so would be to meet face-to-face, he said.

"After having met with several Twitter followers recently, I wish to meet with my Facebook friends.

"As such, to select my lucky online friends, I wish to invite all Malaysians - even you - to join the '1 in a Million' campaign," he said.

Announcing the campaign in his latest entry in the www.1Malaysia.com blog, Najib said those who wished to join the campaign had to just sign up on his Facebook page.

"Do share this with your family and friends too! If your invited friend becomes the selected winner, you may stand a chance to come along too as their guest. I look forward to your participation," he wrote in the blog.

On March 21, the Prime Minister stated his desire to meet and have tea with his one millionth Facebook fan as a token of gratitude for the support of his social media friends over the past three years he has been the Prime Minister.

Najib first met a group of his online friends on March 13, 2010, at a tea party held at the Prime Minister's official residence, Seri Perdana, in Putrajaya.
