Penampang: Telupid's Melinda Louis (4th right), 22, emerged as the State-level Unduk Ngadau 2012 at the Hongkod Koisaan when she defeated 41 contestants from all the districts in Sabah as well as from Labuan and Klang Valley.The clerk saw her efforts to make up for pulling out of the 2008 event when she had to pursue her studies pay off, Thursday.

She earned a pewter trophy with gold trimming, cash RM5,000, diploma scholarship, crown, jewellery set and cash voucher, a Samsung SII handphone, hamper, branded beauty products, sash, a hotel voucher and a bouquet.

First runner-up was 19-year-old Fenniey Doimis (3rd left) from Kota Kinabalu while second runner-up 18-year-old Meryl Foster Paladius (3rd right) from Tambunan.

Fourth placing went to Tanjung Aru's Vanessa Samantha Manih (2nd left) and Samantha Sharon C.E. Laujang (left) from Penampang was fifth.
