Kota Kinabalu: Sabah DAP on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman to announce the quantum of increment and date of implementation of the new oil royalty. Its Chief, Jimmy Wong, said the party was doubtful on the sincerity of Musa when the latter said the oil royalty review is open for discussions with the Federal Government.

He said it was only a few days ago that Musa had publicly described the increment of oil royalty as "irrational".

"The recent move by Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Taib Mahmud to review the oil royalty with the Federal Government could be the main reason in Musa's about-turn on the oil royalty," he said.

Jimmy, who is Sri Tanjung Assemblyman, however, congratulated Musa for finally coming to be realistic in as far as the oil royalty was concerned.

He reminded Musa that Pakatan Rakyat has agreed to increase the oil royalty from 5 per cent to 20 per cent when it assumes power in Putrajaya.

"How much can Musa get from the BN government and how far will Musa pursue this matter?" he asked.

Jimmy said he would like to remind Musa and the Barisan Nasional Government to quickly announce and implement the oil royalty increment before the 13th General Election.
