Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has extended the rebate period for the RM200 Youth Communication Package from one month to three months."Those who have registered and received confirmation of their registration in early January need not re-register.

"We are in the process of e-mailing all those who have registered to inform them of the new development," MCMC Chairman Datuk Mohamed Sharil Tarmizi said.

Telecommunications companies and appointed sales representatives have also been informed about the rebate period extension, he said.

Out of the over 440,000 youths aged 21 to 30 years who have registered for the RM200 rebate, nearly 60,000 have bought new smartphones.
