KULAIJAYA: Telekom Malaysia Bhd ª has signed a second service agreement with Axis AME IP Sdn Bhd (Axis AME) for the deployment and provision of high-speed broadband (HSBB) network infrastructure and services to iPark Phase 3 and SME City developments in Indahpura here. TM Johor State Vice President, Mohd Roslan Mohd Rashidi, said the pact was an extension to the service agreement made in Oct 2012.

"This collaboration marks a significant achievement and underlines TM's success in bringing the benefits of HSBB to even more businesses via collaboration with industrial park developers such as Axis Ame," he said after the ceremony to sign the agreement here Wednesday.

Mohd Roslan and TM Johor Assistant General Manager of SME, Mohd Nizam Mohd Yunan, signed for TM while Axis Ame's Executive Director, Datuk Stewart LaBrooy, and Managing Director, Kelvin Lee Chai, signed for the company.

He said the partnership with Axis AME was meaningful as it would not only further enhance TM's presence in both iPark and SME City but would also enable factory owners and tenants experience the new era of digital lifestyle.

"TM will provide the services at both industrial parks, making them UniFi-ready for future tenants and potential buyers where they can subscribe to UniFi and enjoy a comprehensive suite of broadband services via fibre technology immediately upon moving in," he said.

Mohd Roslan said TM was ready in terms of planning and infrastructure to bring in HSBB services to the Pengerang oil and gas hub.

The deployment and provision of the services to the area would help boost the development of the industry, he said.

He said the people who live in the vicinity too could also enjoy the benefit of the service which can reach the speed of 100Mbps.

"We have done aggressive planning for the area and once the relocation of the villagers there has been completed we could start bringing in the services for them and the industry," he said.

The industrial parks will be equipped with free subscription of TM's 5Mbps UniFi service for a maximum period of two years.

UniFi is offered as a triple-play service comprising high-speed internet, video (Internet Protocol Television or IPTV) and voice, with speeds from 5Mbps to 20Mbps via fibre technology.

While the same speeds are offered to businesses via UniFi Biz packages, higher speeds of up to 50Mbps are available for business customers, subject to serviceability. - Bernama
