Kota Kinabalu: State Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Jainab Ahmad, Wednesday, hit out at those who uploaded and spread pictures in the internet of a Primary Four pupil whose cheek was pierced by an iron rod.Describing the action as irresponsible, she said it left a negative impact on the family concerned.

It also caused people to be less sympathetic to those experiencing the predicament, she said, after accompanying the Head of State's wife, Toh Puan Hajah Norlidah Datuk R M Jasni, to visit the boy at the family home in Kobusak, Wednesday.

"We need to look after the feelings of the family members.

We understand that the grandmother of the boy is frail and seeing the horrifying pictures of her grandchild caused her to be traumatised," she said.

"I hope the relevant authorities will take stern action against those taking the pictures and spreading it on the Internet," she said.

Jainab also fully supported the action by the State Education Director Datuk Jame Alip to instruct all schools to look after the safety aspect not only within the school compound but also public areas.
