Kota Kinabalu: SMK Tebobon students will finally get a conducive place to gather for school activities and programmes with the construction of a new open hall at their school.Its Excellent Principal, Loh Kok Cheang said presently, all school activities were held at the Dataran Hussein Onn, where they were frequently exposed to the elements.
The State government through the Sabah Credit Corporation's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme had allocated a total of RM500,000 for the construction of the building.

"The construction will start immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony and is expected to take six months," he said, adding that the hall will be able to accommodate 900 to 1,000 students.
It was also believed that the school currently has 2,400 students, 129 teachers and 16 supporting staff.
He also thanked Sabah Credit Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Vincent Pung who officiated the ceremony, the State Education Department especially the building and development department, teachers, parents as well as members of the Parents and Teachers Association.
Loh said this during the groundbreaking ceremony held at the school's compound here, Tuesday.
Later, Pung in his speech which was delivered by Sabah Credit Corporation Chief Financial Officer George Taitim Tulas, hoped their CSR programme which started in 2005 would continue to offer assistance especially to children, women and disabled individuals.
"Our main focus is to support schools and children as they are our future leaders," he said, adding that their CSR projects were successful due to the support and assistance received from various parties.
