Mapex Penang eyes over RM130m in property deals

GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysia Property Exhibition Penang (MAPEX Penang) expects to record sales of over RM130 million at the three-day event starting Sept 26, 2014 at the Subterranean Penang International Conference & Exhibition Centre here.MAPEX Penang organising committee chairman, Ng Chin-U, said the exhibition has so far attracted 16 developers which would occupy 30 booths."This is the second time it will be held this year due to high demand.

We hope to record high sales of over RM130 million," he told reporters here Friday.He said MAPEX Penang in February this year recorded property sales of RM130 million.MAPEX Penang is jointly organised by Real Estate and Housing Developers Association Penang and Henry Butcher Malaysia Penang.Ng urged buyers who were still hunting for their dream homes to visit MAPEX Penang which would feature mostly residential properties with prices ranging from RM200,000 to RM15 million.

"Although most of the properties are in Penang we do have developers offering properties in the Klang Valley and Johor," he said, adding that special sales package would also be offered at the exhibition.He said despite the slowdown in property demand recently, residential properties in the RM600,000 to RM800,000 range were highly sought-after, especially in Penang.
