Kudat: Umno Kudat Division Chief Datuk Bolkiah Ismail said Sabah still needs Datuk Seri Musa Aman to continue leading the State towards further progress and development. He said the division has full confidence in Musa's dynamic leadership to bring more transformation to the State's development in many aspects.

"The division has reiterated its pledge to give its fullest support to Musa and the delegates particularly the grassroots want only Musa to continue steering Sabah as the Chief Minister.

"We want Musa because of his proven track record in developing Sabah and we want him to keep going as he is a capable leader to administer the State and there is no one yet as qualified," he said.

Bolkiah who is also Barisan Nasional Kudat Chairman said this during the delegates meeting of Umno Kudat, officiated by the party's Vice President cum Home Minister Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, here.

A total of 1,002 delegates from 284 branches attending the meeting.

He said the division has seen how Musa never failed to bring more development and Federal funding for Sabah due to his good relationship with the Federal government as a consequence of which the poverty rate dropped from 19.7 per cent in 2009 to 8.1 per cent in 2012.

In the same period, Bolkiah who is also Pitas assemblyman said the poverty rate in rural areas also recorded a sharp decline from 32.8 per cent (2009) to 12.9 per cent (2012).

Hence, he said the division believed the poverty rate in Sabah would be further reduced under Musa's leadership.

"Musa is a people-oriented and a visionary leader who could shape Sabah to be better than before and so far, there is no leader as capable as Musa to continue navigating Sabah towards excellence in many ways.

"He has holistic strategies and approaches not only on measures to address poverty but also on enhancing the State's economic growth."

He said the foreign investors are from Korea, China, European countries and United States, among others who have confidence in the State's political stability and economic potential.

He said these countries invested their money into the State's manufacturing, oil and gas industry, marine-based industry and oil palm such as into Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), Palm Oil Industrial Cluster (POIC) and Sabah ammonia and urea project (Samur).

Furthermore, Bolkiah said there are a number of government-linked companies (GLCs) that have paid lucrative dividends to the State like Sabah Credit Corporation, and Sawit Kinabalu, among others, which is the result of Musa's dynamic leadership.

He said the division which is a fortress of Umno and BN also expressed solid support for Musa to lead the party in Sabah.
