Park continues where he left off

Kota Kinabalu: In-form Park Sang Ho continued where he left off as he took an early lead in the 9th Sabah International Junior Masters cum 9th leg SportExcel and HY/SGA Junior Open Championship 2014 held at the Sabah Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.The recently crowned 100Plus Malaysian Junior Open champion from Korea shot a three-over 75 to lead second place Eldrick Chong who stunned the field by a single shot followed by Suzairi Iqmah and Charles Alliston a further shot behind.

The 14-year-old Eldrick, who is known to be erratic in the past seems to be able to make his presence felt with his elder brother Albright Chong beside him throughout the rounds.

Reigning SGCC Open champion Jordan Mobijohn scored a two-over 74 but was only eligible for the division A title as he is over 18-year-old while fellow Sukma golfer Fadzley Chua played a four-over 76 to tie in fifth place with Lee Chong Li and Chew Yu Chen.

In the girls division, Raeysha Surendran scored the day's best of par 72 to take the lead ahead of Mikhaelo Fortuna and Yuka Saso who were both tied in second place with their score of two-over 74 with Sofia Chabon in third with 75 while pre-tournament favourite Samantha Martinez from the Philippines had a five-over 77 to tie with Abigail Arevalo in fifth place.

Nicholas Mark Tay was the leader in the boys division D with a 11-over 83 followed by Andy Gracia (89) and Syhazril Syahril (94) while the leaders in the girls division were Charlayne Chong (93) and Valerie Venessa Langkab (119).
