SEMPORNA: The newly-launched Bugaya Village Chief and JKK Chairman Club has been told to tap youths in the area for their ideas, which would be beneficial for their village development. Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Ramlee Marhaban said members of the club must reach out to the youths in their area and seek their ideas. The club, he said, can be the body which connects the Government to the people as they are the closest to them, especially those from the rural areas who are in need of guidance and latest information.

"At the same time, I hope the club will always be cooperative with the department and agencies and other non-governmental organisations to strengthen community programmes which are related to consumerism, community with the young and the older generations. "This is to ensure all programmes will be executed more efficiently and holistically," he said during the launching of the Village Chief and JKKK Chairman Club, here. Ramlee said the creation of the club is proof of the Government's concern and commitment towards the people's needs to increase the capacity of youth to develop in Bugaya. He said the club would be able to increase the awareness of people at the grassroots level on the importance of protecting their rights.
