UCSF begins first intake Oct
KOTA KINABALU: Enhancing the employability of graduates must become the primacy of today's higher education if we want to continue building enough human capital for Sabah's development, said Professor Ghazally Ismail, Vice Chancellor of the University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF)."UCSF aims to redefine the purpose of higher education. We would articulate the combination of scholarly knowledge with the acquisition of relevant skills in all our academic programmes. This will definitely increase our students' employability in today's workforce upon graduation."

UCSF will be admitting its first batch of students in October 2014. It will open its doors to a total of 500 students in the field of management, accountancy, entrepreneurship, creative arts and multimedia.

This is another first in Sabah Foundation's primary agenda of providing education to all Sabahans in the State, far and wide.

In relation to this, UCSF will be establishing four faculties and two research institutes.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the two projects together would add 28MWac of new power generation capacity, helping to stabilise electricity supply in Sabah.
They are the Faculty of Sustainable Science, Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Creative Arts and Multimedia and Faculty of Development and Multicultural Studies. The research institutes are the Institute of Green Economy and Sustainability (IGES) and the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Borneo (ILCOB).

UCSF academic programmes are distinctly blended across disciplines to equip students with knowledge and skills that are also becoming increasingly multidisciplinary.
