School graffiti project
Jason Santos KOTA KINABALU: For the last couple of days, parents picking up their children from SMK Kolombong, Shan Tao and Maktab Sabah may have noticed some graffiti on the school walls.

Fret not, the national education system has not included bad influence into its syllabus, nor do the schools condone acts of vandalism.

But a project carried out by a small group of local artists here is paving the way to spur kinship between Form Three and Four students, while boosting their self-confidence in public.

Local art group, the Cracko Art Group, has been mentoring selected students from these schools to carry out the #Lebihceriabersama high school project.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the two projects together would add 28MWac of new power generation capacity, helping to stabilise electricity supply in Sabah.
#lebihceriabersama is a three-way venture between a local art group, a private company and schools, which allows students to learn to pick-a-trait from several projects.

The projects include making musical instruments from discarded items and graffiti.

Nofie, a spokesperson for the group, said students were excited to pick up spray cans to paint for the first time.

"It's a project to help school-going children learn in a fun way," she said.
