Handprints' Christmas family day on Dec 6

KOTA KINABALU: Handprints, a Toy Library and Parents Resource Centre for children with special needs, will be holding its family day on Dec 6 in conjunction with Christmas celebration.Handprints Coordinator George Lo said the event will be held at Tanjung Aru Perdana Park starting at 4.30pm. "It will be a fun Christmas family day at the park with gifts, games, goodie bags and fitness exercise," said Lo, adding that pre-registration with Handprints is required.

The three-year-old centre, is a non-profit centre operated by the Basel Christian Church of Malaysia Kota Kinabalu (BCCM KK).It is the first of its kind in Sabah and third throughout Malaysia and provides support and assistance to children diagnosed with Dyslexia, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Down's syndrome, Global Development Delay, Speech Delay and Cerebral Palsy, so that their learning potential and sensory integration can be developed through play. In addition, the centre also provides counselling to parents with special needs children as well as Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule for the diagnose of autism.
