Flood-hit schools told to identify the aid needed

TAWAU: Principals and headmasters of schools which are affected by the floods have been asked to identify the assistance required as preparation for the new school term which begins next week.Deputy Education Minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching said attention should be given to the schools concerned, where immediate aid, like textbooks, chairs, desks, etc, should be given.She said the aid to be given should not only be through the ministry but also the various agencies involved in helping the flood victims.

Meanwhile, Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan advised the people in the State against spreading false news on the flood which had hit several states.Do not worsen the situation by spreading false news, he added.
