Ranau cops step up efforts

Ranau: Police in this area stepped up its efforts in crime fighting through the initiative "Got To Safety Points (GTSP)" jointly organized by the fuel company Petron Malaysia here on Thursday.Deputy Director JPJKK PDRM, DCP Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said, GTSP is a campaign that introduced the provision of an alternative to the society for protection and also a place to disseminate information to the police."In this context, the police in cooperation with Petron Malaysia has been providing specific training to the petrol station in reaching out to people who are facing problems mainly related to the crime.

"In addition, the location of petrol stations also seen very convenient and easily accessible by the public. This will indirectly facilitate crime victims to get help early," he explained.Wan Ahmad said, what more important is, the program is seen as capable of bridging the relationship between the police, Petron fuel station and local communities in combating crime through the spirit of 'smart partnership'.He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the GTSP Workshop jointly organized by the Malaysian police and Petron Company held at the Islam Training Centre Kundasang on Thursday.Meanwhile, Head of Corporate Affairs Petron Malaysia, Hj Zaimi Harun said the main purpose of the program is held to forge closer relations between the entrepreneurs of Petron fuel stations and the police in each district.
