KANGAR: The Perlis FA (PFA) has filed a suit to claim more than RM3 million from former president Datuk Ahmad Amizal Shaifit Ahmad Rafaie (pic).
PFA deputy president Mohd Abdul Karim Khan Mansor Ahmad Khan who is the association’s acting president, said that the suit issued on March 18 was made following the damage and bad image brought by Ahmad Amizal.
“The worst thing he did was leading PFA to being kicked out by Malaysia Football League (MFL) from this season’s Premier League,” he said in a statement.
The state’s Youth Cup and President’s Cup squads also faced similar actions by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) following monetary issues which plunged the Northern Lions into financial crisis, he said.
Abdul Karim said that their former president is given until the end of this month to reply to the claims, failing which a suit would be issued for violating the terms of PFA’s sponsorship agreement.
In this regard, PFA did not rule out holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in April to elect a new president who is well and truly capable of leading the association.
“We will choose a new president who is able to settle PFA’s debts which amount to a staggering RM4 million. Once all these issues are resolved, only then will FAM and MFL allow PFA to put a team to compete in the Malaysia League once again.
On March 20, PFA vice president Ismasuhaimi Shariff sought an audience with the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail to explain the crisis plaguing the team. – Bernama
