Kunak blood  donation  campaign 
KUNAK: Kunak Hospital in collaboration with the Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM) recently held a blood donation campaign to increase awareness on the importance of blood donation. 

Assistant Health and Wellbeing Minister Norazlinah Arif said the campaign with the theme of “Give a Drop of Life”, attracted many donors.

She said the campaign was held in cooperation with several parties that include the UPPM Unit, Kunak Women Bureau and Women’s Heritage.

She also participated as a donor. Kunak Hospital Director Dr Asbullah Sudin said the blood type O is urgently needed especially in trauma and emergency units.

Blood donor, Ismail Badrun, 52, said it was his 17th time donating.

“As a donor I am responsible to help those in need of blood,” he said.

Another donor, Hasnah Ambo, 32, said she came to Kunak Hospital to donate blood after learning about the campaign on social media. The event also saw children colouring competition and “Bayblade” game. – Ibrahim Tabir
