KOTA KINABALU: New opposition party, Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS), says it wants to put in front a new breed of leaders who have strong leadership qualities, including tested and inspiring business leaders.
Its deputy president Dr Hiew King Cheu said the party offers itself as a new and strong political force that can bring about a genuine transformation of the State, led by its team of leaders who have proven themselves to be successful in their respective careers.

“We have lawyers, engineers and professionals because we believe this is the kind of team of leaders who can perform. And we want more people from these backgrounds. We also want to have more business leaders in our team. Business leaders are successful people. They know how to manage the economy,” he said.
The former Luyang assemblyman and Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament claimed that due to poor governance, most of the business leaders are suffering but when given the opportunity to lead, they would use their knowledge and experience to replicate their own success in a larger context of the economy.
Meanwhile, party president Ationg Tituh told reporters later that PGRS is determined to fight for the rights of Sabahans. He claimed that the current State Government has not performed up to the peoples expectation and is seen to have failed to address various issues.
According to him, PGRS has grown stronger with 12 divisions to date and is already making early preparations to contest in the 15th general election.
