‘Come down hard on illegal loggers’
SIPITANG: The seizure of 1,700 logs found in Long Mio recently indicates there are still irresponsible parties involved in illegal logging activities.

State Education and Innovation Minister cum Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob said those granted logging licences should comply with the rules.

“Any person who has been granted a logging licence must carry out logging activities in the designated area and in accordance with the rules set by the Sabah Forestry Department.

“Logging and cleaning activities are essential for certain projects such as agriculture or livestock projects but must be done in a proper manner to maintain environmental sustainability.
