Kota Kinabalu: The planned Kaamatan Festival this year has been cancelled due to Covid-19 concerns, it has been announced.

After thorough deliberations with Huguan Siou Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) President and the KDCA Central Committee members, it was unanimously decided that KDCA will not proceed with the Kaamatan Festival celebration this year due to the grave health concern, a statement said.

“It was a tough decision to make as all KDCA members with the respective committees from all districts to Hongkod Koisaan are all geared up to have the much awaited yearly celebrations,” it said.
