UPDATE: Two more Covid-19 deaths in Sarawak
Kota Kinabalu: The Sarawak Government on Saturday announced two Covid-19 deaths, of a woman and her daughter, bringing the total of deaths nationwide to six.

A press release said the 79-year-old and her daughter, 40, died on March 18 and 21 respectively. The former's death was announced late by a private hospital because of then-pending test results from a private Kuala Lumpur lab.

A 50-year-old man in Melaka from the tabligh jamat Covid-19 cluster became the nation’s fourth fatal case, the Ministry of Health announced also on Saturday.

Patient #238 was admitted to Melaka Hospital on March 12 with severe acute respiratory infection. He was given breathing assistance on his fifth day of admission.

However, his condition kept worsening until he died at 1.30am on Saturday.

The Ministry also announced 153 new cases, 90 of which connected to the tabligh cluster, bringing the total to 1,183 cases.

A total of 19 government and five private health workers have now contracted the disease, said the Ministry further.
