Covid-19: 172 new cases, 19 total deaths, 72 total health workers infected

Kota Kinabalu: The Ministry of Health on Wednesday announced 172 new Covid-19 cases and a total of 19 deaths from the disease with 72 health workers also infected by the virus.
The Ministry said the total of cases nationwide now is 1,796, 45 of whom are being treated at intensive care units, 34 of whom are on breathing assistance.

Of the new cases announced, 71 are from the Sri Petaling mosque cluster while the rest are still being investigated.
The ministry said the 73 health workers were not infected while handling patients, however, 47 of them were linked to a wedding reception attended by some participants of the Sri Petaling mosque convention.
Of the number, 37 worked at the Teluk Intan Hospital, Perak while the rest at Putrajaya Hospital, Raja Perempuan Zainab Hospital in Kelantan, Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang and Selayang Hospital.
A total of 199 patients have been discharged, bringing the total to 199.
