Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Health Department reassured that continuous efforts are being made in terms of enhancing basic facilities and services at the designated quarantine centres.“There are people who have posted various negative comments on social media regarding the quarantine centres,” said State Health Department Director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi (pic), in a statement, Tuesday.

She said the attitude of a few people in the community is not helping in solving the problem and also interfered with the efforts of parties involved in the task of dealing with the Covid-19 outbreak.
On a Daily Express report recently on a Covid-19 positive tabligh member being “turned away twice”, she said the health facilities involved confirmed that the patient had undergone two examinations on March 12.
“Sampling was performed the second time he received treatment,” she added.
Meanwhile, five new positive Covid-19 cases were recorded in Sabah, Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases to 206 to date.

The five new cases comprised three in Tawau and one each in Sandakan and Lahad Datu.
Tawau remains top on the list with a total of 63 positive cases, followed by Lahad Datu (35), Kota Kinabalu (29), Sandakan (16) and Kinabatangan (14).
Semporna, Penampang and Tambunan recorded the lowest with one case each.
A total of 613 beds have been provided for Covid-19 patients in six hospitals throughout Sabah and to date 45 per cent of the beds are being utilised whereby two patients are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
In total, 12 patients were cured and discharged from the hospital.
Twenty-five quarantine centres have been opened, with the addition of two new locations - Kokilli Inn Hotel, Sipitang and Oyo Hotel Lucky Eleven, Kota Kinabalu.
Some 800 people have been placed at the quarantine centres and 28 were allowed to return home on Tuesday.
The cumulative number of those under monitor/supervision order for home quarantine under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 is 7,549 persons as of March 31.
Whereas the number of close contacts still under supervision/observation order by the Health Department is 6,434 persons, and the number of close contacts who have completed their 14-day home quarantine is 1,115 persons.
In conjunction with the Movement Control Order (MCO), the department’s Inspectorate and Legal Unit carried out integrated operation with the police, local authorities and Rela comprising 122 personnel statewide.
Inspections were conducted on 395 premises and six eateries in Sandakan were ordered to close under Section 18(1)(f) of the same Act.
The department thanked the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) for its RM1 million donation.
It also extended thanks to all who have contributed food, personal protective equipment and morale support to those in the frontlines.
