Retired senior Sabah govt official dies of Covid-19
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded its third Covid-19 death when a retired senior Sabah government official died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital I, here, Friday morning.

The former senior officer of a government department, who had diabetic history, passed away at 8.20am in his 60s.

His condition had got worst before a doctor started reading the “talkin”, a recital of the syahadah or Muslim profession of faith to those dying, at about 8am, Daily Express has learned.

The man, a syura council member of the Sabah west coast chapter of the tabligh missionary movement, had been battling Covid-19 in an intensive care unit on respirator support for weeks before succumbing to the disease.

He attended a religious gathering at the Sri Petaling Mosque in Kuala Lumpur in late February and early March, which later became Malaysia’s largest transmission cluster of the disease that infected more than 1,700 people, with more than 700 of them those who attended the event.
