Kota Kinabalu: Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS), Kota Kinabalu is ramping up efforts to collect blood to help in overcoming shortage in most hospitals here.

Chairman Remy Martin said they will hold blood donation drives at the MRCS State headquarters, Mile 2, Jalan Tuaran from April 13-14, Lintas Fire and Rescue Station (April 14-16) and MRCS Kota Kinabalu Building, Sembulan (April 20), where donors will get special time slots to avoid crowding.

He said many donation drives have been cancelled or donors did not turn up due to the Covid-19 fear.

He also said only MRCS is allowed to organise blood donation drives after receiving permission from the State Health Department, following strict social distancing measures.

Remy appeals to the people to come and support the programme at the said venues.
