Also present were political secretary Fairuz Bandar, Tuaran District Council (MDT) Deputy Chairman, George Teo and MDT Executive Officer Jackley Gilbert.

PJ Tan said the group decided to do their part as the Movement Control Order (MCO) caused hardship to many.

“The government’s move to impose the MCO in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic is necessary. But many ordinary folks, especially the poor, single mothers, elderly and jobless, among others are badly affected. As such, we decided to help with food items so that no one will be left hungry.

“We are also impressed with Tangau’s efforts in distributing food items to those in need in Tuaran since day one of the MCO and we decided to chip in whatever we can,” said PJ Tan.

Tangau, who is also Deputy Chief Minister cum State Trade and Industry Minister, was thankful to the companies and NGOs for donating the food items.

“It shows they care about the people in time of need. Me and my team will do our best to ensure the basic food needs of those in need are taken care of during the MCO,” he said.

“I hope that more companies and NGOs will come forward and assist our brothers and sisters who are in need at this moment,” said Tangau.
