SIPITANG: Two local men were arrested for possessing live bullets at their houses in Kg Mendulong, here, on Monday.
District Police Chief DSP Champin Piuh (pic) said the first arrest involving a 40-year-old unemployed was made in a raid led by him (Champin) at the suspect’s house at 11am.
He said the police found live bullets on a mattress in the suspect’s bedroom.
“The suspect admitted possession of some of the bullets,” he said, Wednesday.
The suspect has been remanded for further probe and the case will be investigated under Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960.
Champin said the other suspect, who is a friend of the first suspect, was detained for having 12 Bore bullets and also for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) by walking around the village.
The suspect, who also admitted taking Syabu, was brought to the police station here for urine test.
