RM85,000 fine for letting 17 illegals stay
Kota Kinabalu: A woman was fined a total of RM85,000 for allowing 17 illegal immigrants to stay in her premises.

High Court Deputy Registrar Cindy Mc Juce Balitus, who sat as a Sessions Court Judge, handed the sentence to Noraini Ramli who pleaded guilty to the charge.

The court ordered Noraini to pay RM5,000 or three months’ jail for each the foreigners involved.

Noraini was found permitting the foreigners to remain in her premises in Sipitang.

During mitigation, Noraini asked for leniency.

However, the prosecution urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence against Noraini.
